Arrecife Airport is approximately 12kms from Villa Las Palmeras and the flight time from the UK is approximately 4 hours. Airports in the UK have flights to Lanzarote on mostdays, however, Thursday is the busiest and therefore, often the cheapest. British Airways and Monarch offer scheduled flights from various UK airports, however, the best deals are often found using charter flights. These can be arranged using a UK Travel Agent, a Lanzarote Travel Agent or the internet. (see below for websites and contacts we use for the best deals)
To travel from the airport to Villa Las Palmeras you have a choice of taxis, car hire or the local bus service. Taxis are very reasonably priced, costing approximately 15 euros. (£10) They can be found outside the arrivals hall and although you will have to queue, they are plentiful, so waiting time is usually minimal.
Car Hire is available at the airport and cheaper than in the UK. You must be aged 21 and possess a full driving licence. Our neighbours in Lanzarote always use Auto Reisen,(0034 928 846 255)when their friends and family visit. The charge is 100 euros (£70) for 7 days.
There is a local bus that will take you from the airport to Costa Teguise. You may have to change at Arrecife, depending on the time. The cost for this is approximately 2 euros per person and the stop is outside the Occidental Oasis Hotel, opposite the Barcelo. The villa is then less than 5 minutes walk away.

The El Palmeral Complex is on the Avenida de Las Palmeras. This is one of the main roads into Costa Teguise. The complex is situated immediately behind the Barcelo Lanzarote Suites which is well known by taxi drivers and the front of which is on the Avenida del Mar, opposite the Occidental Oasis Hotel.
Travelling time by car or taxi from the airport is approximately 15 minutes and 30 minutes by bus.
The golf course and aqua park are 5 minutes to the rear of the complex, by car.
